The Day of Resurrection (Easter Celebration)
“For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive in the Spirit. After being made alive, he went and made proclamation to the imprisoned spirits—to those who were disobedient long ago when God waited patiently in the days of Noah while the ark was being built. In it only a few people, eight in all, were saved through water…” ~ 1 Peter 3:18-20
Easter is a joyful day when Jesus met his disciples after dying for the sins of all mankind. After dying for the sake of our salvation, Jesus resurrected three days later. So that we will know, believe, and live with joy, Wolmyeongdong Church sets aside one Sunday each year for Easter.
Although the generation treated him with contempt, Jesus did not judge us according to our deeds. He gave up his body and died on our behalf for our sins. Since that was the only way to save us, he paid for our sins with his body.
However, as long as we do not recognize the Lord and obey His Word, then we will remain dead spiritually.
Receiving the Lord
“Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life. Very truly I tell you, a time is coming and has now come when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God and those who hear will live. For as the Father has life in himself, so he has granted the Son also to have life in himself. And he has given him authority to judge because he is the Son of Man. Do not be amazed at this, for a time is coming when all who are in their graves will hear his voice and come out—those who have done what is good will rise to live, and those who have done what is evil will rise to be condemned.” ~ John 5:24-29
People who believe in the Lord, love him, and live obeying his words resurrect. They live receiving all kinds of blessings. If you believe in the Lord as the Messiah and in the Almighty God who sent him, then you will escape the wages of sin. You will become a resurrected person.
