God’s Waterfall: Where God’s Love and Word Flow Without End

Nestled between the Wolmyeongdong sports field and the path leading to the Ambition Masterpiece lies one of the most awe-inspiring sights in Wolmyeongdong: God’s Waterfall. What makes this waterfall truly remarkable is not just its scale or sound, but the meaning behind every element—from the shape of its rocks to the path of its water, to the vision behind its creation. More than just a natural feature, it stands as a living testament to what can be built through faith, God’s design, and love.
A Masterpiece on the Edge
From the moment Pastor Jung set eyes on the steep cliffside where the waterfall now stands, he knew it was meant for something special. The land itself was shaped like a valley—a natural canvas asking to be transformed. God gave him the design, and the idea was clear from the beginning: this would not be an ordinary waterfall. It would be God’s waterfall. Its look had to be masculine, wondrous, and beautiful.
The waterfall spans about 10 meters in width, and the water drops from a height of 25 meters; a flow so strong and refreshing that its sound echoes clearly across Wolmyeongdong. On summer days, you can hear the roar of its cascading water even from far away, like the floodgates of a dam being opened.
Near the waterfall stands an upright rock that resembles a pen, positioned at about 4 o’clock from God’s pavilion above. It symbolizes a pen through which God’s Word is written and given. Placed right next to the majestic waterfall, It is a powerful visual reminder of the unending flow of God’s Word and the outpouring of His love.
Built Through Faith, Not Without Risk
Constructing anything on a cliffside is dangerous. Building this 25-meter waterfall on a cliff was physically demanding and logistically risky. Yet, Pastor Jung pressed on, following the design God had given him. It wasn’t just about engineering; it was about obedience. Every rock placed and every path carved had to be aligned with the vision. The steepness of the land, the flow of water, and the integration with the rest of Wolmyeongdong were all challenges that required both heavenly wisdom and unwavering dedication.
The Water That Moves with Purpose
From the Wolmyeong Lake and the Wolmyeong Swimming Pool, water travels upwards and flows back down the waterfall, creating a clean and continuous system. Beneath the concrete paths, the water quietly moves until it rejoins the pond below, completing its cycle.
This system keeps the water fresh and connects key locations in Wolmyeongdong: the lake, the pool, and the waterfall are united in one living flow. Through this design, God made a waterfall that is perfectly functional and harmonious with its surroundings.
A Gazebo with Heaven’s View
Above the waterfall stands another marvel: God’s Waterfall Gazebo. Built in 2018, this gazebo is unlike any other. Positioned at the best location, from this vantage point, one can see the Wolmyeong Lake and the Swimming Pool in a single breathtaking glance.
Every part of this gazebo, from its structure to its purpose, is God’s design fulfilled through Pastor Jung. More than a resting spot, it’s a place of reflection, appreciation, and wonder. Those who visit in the summer can feel the refreshing mist of the waterfall as it flows directly into the swimming pool below, where many come to cool off during retreats.
A Living Message Through This Waterfall
Some might shy away when faced with difficulty and risk, like constructing on a cliff. God taught that there is an opportunity that arises from crises. Instead of looking with a negative perspective and missing this opportunity, God led Pastor Jung to see and appreciate the natural shape of the terrain, shaped like a valley, which would be perfect for a waterfall.
God’s Waterfall stands as a bold reminder that nothing is impossible when it is aligned with God’s design. Though built on dangerous terrain and filled with challenges, it now pours with life, sound, and beauty. It speaks of Word, love, and purpose—a masterpiece carved from obedience and trust.
Some may shy away when faced with difficulty, like the challenge of building on a cliffside.
However, as written in Isaiah 55:8-9, in what seemed like a daunting crisis, God revealed an opportunity.

neither are your ways my ways,”
declares the Lord.
9 “As the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts."
Rather than viewing the steep terrain as an obstacle, He led Pastor Jung to see the natural shape of the valley as the perfect setting for a waterfall. What others might have overlooked, God used as the foundation for something extraordinary.
Today, God’s Waterfall stands as a bold reminder that nothing is impossible when we follow God’s design. Though born out of danger and difficulty, it now overflows with life, sound, and beauty.
The powerful and unending water current is like God’s love, endlessly pouring out for us. It is also like His Word, alive and mighty, astounding and unending.
