Yet, turn to another side, and the Holy Son disappears, replaced by the sharp, regal profile of an eagle. The rock’s features re-form into the piercing eyes and powerful beak of this majestic bird. In many cultures, eagles are known as messengers of the divine, symbols of strength and authority, and emblems of leaders who guide with wisdom and vision. In this way, the Holy Son Rock’s eagle form exudes the majesty of Christ the Messiah. This dual nature—both saint and eagle—is a profound example of God’s artistry, and how He speaks to us through creation in multiple, layered ways.
A Childhood Memory; Divine Monument
The story of the Holy Son Rock is deeply personal, woven into the life of Pastor Jung Myung Seok. As a child, he would walk a path to his relative’s house, often stopping to climb on this very rock and gather stonecrop plants from its surface. What seemed like a simple childhood memory was, in fact, the first chapter of a divine plan.
Decades later, in October 2012, as Pastor Jung prepared for the annual Wolmyeongdong Rock Festival, he received a powerful inspiration from the Lord:

With this guidance, he and his disciples began searching for exceptional rocks across the nation. Their search led them to a construction site for the 316 Rapture Memorial Hall, where they came across a rock barely peeking out from a rice field. Its shape was not striking at first glance, but it seemed too valuable to bury again.
When they dug it up and moved it, they discovered its incredible size—a staggering 130 tons, the largest and heaviest rock ever moved to Wolmyeongdong.
In a moment of incredible realization, Pastor Jung recognized this behemoth. It was the very rock from his childhood path. The Holy Son had already planned to leave this story, allowing Pastor Jung to interact with the rock as a child so that it could eventually be placed in Wolmyeongdong, becoming a cornerstone of the Natural Temple.
