Life Saving Waterfall
This summer, I decided to join the summer retreats in Wolmyeongdong. Every summer, the Wolmyeongdong Recreation Center has a summer program for visitors, so I wanted to visit at least once.
The only down side was that it was really hot this year, especially during mid-day.
Fortunately though, they had a waterfall where people could swim under! I was glad to whoever decided to make it. It wasn’t a natural waterfall, so I don’t know what they did before the waterfall was made.
Later on, I learned that the founder Jung Myung Seok decided to make it for people who visited in the summer. Thank God!
It was so refreshing!
Here’s a picture of the waterfall!
A waterfall in Wolmyeongdong made by Jung Myung Seok so that visitors who came during summer could stay coolLater on, I heard that they were going to make another waterfall that’s bigger and fits more people! I can’t wait to see Wolmyeongdong after it is finished. I think it will be next to Wolmyeong Lake.
On that note, Wolmyeong Lake was also amazing as well! They cleaned the water so it was practically transparent. I was lucky to have gone to the retreats early though because after so many swam in the lake, the water kind of got murky.
I trust adults to know where to do their business, but children, not so sure. Still, it was fun. Wolmyeong Lake has a shallow and deep side so I can understand why so many children would want to swim in the lake. I kept to the deep side though (which was maybe about 2.5 meters?).
Recommendation
Anyway, I highly recommend coming to Wolmyeongdong at least once, and if it’s going to be your first time, I recommend you to come during one of the retreats!

Thanks for sharing. I’m curious how the waterfall saved your life đŸ™‚ (based on the title)
Ah, this was a testimony submitted to us that we posted, but after talking with the person and reading their testimony, I think they were trying to express how hot it was and that they were dying from the heat. If the waterfall wasn’t built, then there’d be no place to cool down from the heat. I think the temperatures can get up to 40 degrees Celsius in Korea lol.
