Winter Stars in Wolmyeongdong
I’m not sure how much of an astrology buff you are, but I love astrology! I’m always on the look out for places with clear night views of the stars. If there’s a place in Korea that offers a good view of stars, chances are, I’ve been there.
Usually, places at a high elevation like mountains are good places to go. By chance, I was able to stumble upon this hidden gem of a place in Geumsan. The staff here called this place Wolmyeongdong (bright moon valley). Besides the starry sky, they had other pretty amazing sights, but I was in mainly for the stars. You can see the winter constellations Orion, Taurus, Auriga! Can you spot them?
In this picture I took, you can see the winter constellations Orion, Taurus, and Auriga!
Unfortunately though, the beautiful clouds in this picture could not be rendered properly with my camera… I need a better camera! The color of the clouds were so amazing! You have to see it for yourself next time. I’m not sure if it’s a regular occurrence though.
You can kind of see it in the picture, but the clouds were crossing through Auriga and floating towards Orion.
While I was looking at the sky, I thought, “We’re kind of like stars, aren’t we?”
The darker the night, the brighter stars shine. As long as we don’t give up and keep moving forward, no matter how dark it gets, we will prevail. And depending on the hardships we overcome, the intensity of the light we give off will differ.
I hope you will consider these things when you look at stars. They’re really amazing!
No matter how much the wind blows, stars will never waiver.
I think I was able to realize this because I was in Wolmyeongdong. They also called it a sacred grounds, so the atmosphere felt more spiritual.
I hope in the future, you will come too! I am writing this testimony to share my experience with everyone and encourage you all to at least see the starry sky for yourself!
