I am always in the process of getting ready and preparing before I do anything. Whenever I place a boulder, I ask God whether He likes the way the boulder has been placed. Since God is always watching, I can work with perfection. I push myself to do my best whenever I place a boulder. It’s to the point where I can’t do any better. If someone asked me to take the boulders out and reposition them, I wouldn’t be able to place them any better.
* I asked God while praying:
“How come people say ‘Lord, Lord!’ but don’t recognize the Lord when they see him in their dreams, don’t rejoice, and don’t follow?”
The work is halfway done when the first rock is set. However, it took 20 days for me to place the first rock. Taking action is that difficult.
Living a life of faith is equivalent to building the house of your heart. As you live, your house of faith is being built.
There have been many times when I have seen people trip over nothing on flat ground. Even for me, there was one occasion when I tripped and fell on the ground even though I am used to playing soccer and using my legs. At that time, I fell over because I tripped over another member. However, people sprain themselves even while walking on level ground. They trip because their mind is occupied by something else.
When you do everything you can possibly do and then do a little more on top of that… that small extra amount will determine your destiny. It is about doing things once more for the final time!
I pruned those pine trees even though the mountain did not belong to me. That is why now after 40 years, God has fulfilled his promise. When something gets fulfilled, it does not happen in an instant.
When I built the rock landscape in Wolmyeongdong, if I had thoughts of only setting up small sized rocks, I would have looked for and erected only small sized rocks. Then the Natural Temple would have become a “mini” rock temple.
Existing in itself is not an easy thing to do. Everything exists in the process of overcoming many difficulties. Nothing is the way it is for no reason.
